Uniondale, NY- The New York Draons beat the New Orleans VooDoo, 71-60, in a wild back-and-forth game of Arena Football League indoor action at the Nassau Coliseum. Dahnel Singfield's 27-yard intereception return for a touchdown with under five minute remaining sealed the victory for the Dragons, who had survived 56-point second quarter and four-point defecit entering the fourth quarter.
That intereception was the only blemish on an otherwise spectacular day for VooDoo quarterback Andy Kelly who finished with eight touchdowns. His quest for a ninth wasn't to be and made a winner of Dragon quarterbak Aaron Garcia who threw seven touchdowns of his own.
New York's Chris Anthony led all recievers with 12 receptions, two for scores. Teammate Kevin Swayne had 11 catches and three touchdowns while Will Holder caught five passes, finding the endzone twice. New Orlean's reciever Tremaine Neal had an incredible five touchdowns among his nine catches. Anthony Hines had nine catches as well for three scores.
Defense was led by New Orlean's Dan Curran with nine tackles and a sack and Tremaine Neal's seven tackles. Singfield, in addition to his intereception, led the Dragon's with five tackles while Nick Rogers had the only NY sack.
Reciever Mike Horacek sat out this game with back spasms but hopes to return next week.
New York improves to 3-2 with the win while New Orleans falls to 3-3.
Next Up: The Dragons play next Friday night, March 9th against the Wranglers in Austin, TX.
