Philadelphia, PA (AP) - Andre Miller lit up his former team with 19 points and 10 assists and Wilson Chandler added another 19 points, as Denver snapped Philadelphia's 4 game winning streak with an easy 94-65 win.
The Nuggets scored the first seven points of the game, got out to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter, and it never really got much closer than that the whole way. It was simply not the Sixers' night, as they struggled shooting the ball and taking care of it.
"We were sloppy pretty much right from the beginning, dug ourselves a whole, and couldn't shoot our way out of it," said Sixers Head Coach Doug Collins. "That makes it pretty hard to win a ball game against a team like this. The bottom line is, we have to take better care of the basketball, regardless of who we're playing."
Philly had nine turnovers for the game, while the Nuggets had just one. While nine turnovers isn't a lot, it's what Denver did with those turnovers that proved to be a real killer, scoring 16 points with the extra possessions. That, in turn, helped the Nuggets get out on the fast break, outscoring the Sixers in that category as well, by a margin of 18-10.
This game had all the makings of a blowout from the get go. The Nuggets shot 67 percent in the first half of the quarter, jumping out to a 17-6 lead. However, Philly did go on a 10-3 run to get back to within four points. During that stretch, Denver cooled off thanks to the Sixers forcing their opponents to take a lot of long range shots. They also got out on the fast break to get a couple of easy baskets and cut the deficit. Still, the Nuggets closed the quarter with 5 straight points to expand the lead back to nine.

| Wilson Chandler had a big night for Denver, scoring 19 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. |
"That first quarter run was our chance," said Sixers guard Jrue Holiday. "We got back into it, and then we just let them get a big lead again. We played from behind way too much, played from double digits too much. We just didn't come out with our best stuff tonight."
Holiday was one of the few bright spots for Philadelphia. The point guard poured in a team high 18 points, including 12 in the first half, and grabbed seven rebounds. Marreese Speights was also solid throughout this contest, hitting 6 of 9 shots from the field for 12 points. He also grabbed six rebounds.
The second quarter became more about the foul line than anything else for Denver. Once again, the Nuggets dominated in this category as well. In the first two quarter, the Nuggets went to the charity stripe 13 times, making 10 shots. Philadelphia, however, managed just two shots. It added up to a 45-34 lead at the break.
The Sixers would essentially be put out of their misery in the first 4:30 of the third quarter. Philadelphia couldn't put the ball in an ocean, missing their first seven shots of the quarter. That allowed Denver to increase the lead to 18 points by the time Holiday scored a layup with 7:34 left.

| Evan Turner looked good off the bench, going 5-5 from the field. |
"We couldn't make a shot, and they couldn't miss," said Sixers forward Andre Iguodala. "It really basically just comes down to that. They got hot. We played poorly. We really didn't deserve to be in this game." Iguodala was clearly frustrated, after going just 5-18 from the field for 10 points.
Iguodala may have struggled, but another bright spot for Philly was the play of reserve guard Evan Turner. The second year guard from Ohio State shot the ball extremely well, in fact, he made all five shots he took for 10 points in 17 minutes off the bench. Turner is averaging just over six points a game.
"I was really happy with what Evan did for us," said Collins. "He took smart shots, he took care of the ball. It was definitely one of his better games so far this season."
But again, it was the hot shooting by Denver that really put this one out of reach. The Nuggets finished the game shooting 58 percent from the field in the second half, outscoring Philadelphia 49-31.
The Sixers get a day off before welcoming a good Memphis Grizzlies team to the "Well." They then go on the road, though not very far, taking on New Jersey and New York, before ending the week on Friday at home against Atlanta.
