Washington, D.C. (AP) - Domination, thy name is Philadelphia. The Eagles head into their bye week undefeated, thanks to a 55-7 romp of Washington on the road.
There really wasn't much that was close about this game. Philadelphia was in control from the middle of the first quarter on, beating up the Redskins on both sides of the ball.
"I'm really proud of how are guys are coming out, week in and week out," said Philadelphia Head Coach Andy Reid. "There really is no let up in these guys. Even when we're up big, they keep the foot on the pedal, and that's how you have to play in this league. If you let up for one minute, the other team will take advantage of it."

Philly put its foot on Washington's neck, and never let it off the entire game. There were some struggles early on in the game. Philadelphia drove the ball down the field on its first possession, but the drive stalled inside the 10. So, Alex Henery came in to attempt a 23 yard field goal, but the Redskins blocked it.
Washington was able to move the ball down the field somewhat. But, its drive stalled as well, and the Redskins tried a 53-yard-field goal that came up well short.
On the ensuing drive, the Eagles went on a 5 play, 57 yard touchdown drive, capped by a diving catch from Steven Smith in the endzone on an 8 yard pass from Michael Vick. It was the first of three touchdown passes Vick would have on the day.
The only really bad play Vick made all game came on Philly's next possession. Vick fumbled the ball at his team's 30 yard line and the Redskins recovered. However, the Birds defense came up big, driving Washington backwards. Again, the 'Skins tried a long field goal, this time missing from 52 yards out.
"That was really big of our defense to step up like that," said Vick. "They had my back, and that stop kept us in front and allowed us to really start taking it to Washington after that."

The defense came up big again to help set up another Eagles score. Joselio Hanson intercepted a pass from Rex Grossman at the Redskins 25 yard line. On the ensuing play, Vick handed off to LeSean McCoy, who broke through the line, but ended up fumbling the ball. An alert Steve Smith fell on it, still giving the Eagles a first down. Vick went right back to McCoy on the next play, and this time, he held on to it as he scrambled 12 yards for the touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
Late in the first half, Philly worked the two minute drill to perfection. Actually, it was more like the one minute drill. The Eagles got the ball with less than a minute left in the second quarter. Vick connected on a 51 yard bomb to Jeremy Maclin with 19 seconds left. That set up a 14-yard strike to Maclin with just 7 seconds left in the half, and the rout was on as the Eagles took a 24-0 lead into the break.
"I think that really broke their backs," said Reid. "They weren't able to do much against us, anyway. But, being down 4 scores versus three is a pretty big difference."

The stats at halftime told the story. Philadelphia gained more than 250 yards of total offense, while holding the Redskins to 41 yards. Michael Vick was 13-15 for 169 yards and 2 TD's. Rex Grossman was just 5-15 for 54 yards and an interception.
The differences only grew to be more dramatic in the second half. Vick ended up throwing for just under 300 yards. Maclin had a big day with 5 catches for 110 yards. And, LeSean McCoy went over the 1,000 yard mark for the season, rushing for 139 yards.
Philadelphia now has a week off before having to face their even more hated rivals, the Dallas Cowboys for a Sunday night matchup on the eve of Halloween. The Eagles look much scarier than the Cowboys, who are just 1-4 to start the season. Andy Reid is 12-0 in games after the bye week, so he'll look to continue that streak against Dallas.
