Baltimore, MD -- The Xavier Musketeers traveled this week out to Baltimore, MD to face off against the Coppin State Eagles. Xavier, who just had gained the #2 ranking the polls, was looking to continue on the success they have had so far this year. Things started off well for Xavier and at one point they had almost a 20 point lead in the first half, but the Musketeers got complacent and allowed the Eagles to fight back before the end of the first half maintaing only a 5 point lead.   ... Oxford, OH -- Xavier scored their second win of the year today against the Redhawks of Miami. The two teams had a close battle in the second half but in the end the Musketeers would gain the edge 62-57. The guard play was stellar for the Musketeers and helped lead them to the win. Senior guard Tu Holloway dropped 13 points with 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals and junior guard Mark Lyons scored with 1 steal for the Musketeers. Cincinatti, OH -- In what would be considered a big year with big expectations for the Xavier Musketeers, they showed up and proved the first game that those expectations belong. Xavier opened up the year against SE Missouri State University and handled them pretty easily, getting the win 79-53. Cincinatti, OH - The dynamic duo of Senior Guard Tu Holloway and Junior Guard Mark Lyons put on a show today in the Cintas Center to show why the Xavier Musketeers are going to be relevant this year. The two combined for a total of 48 points as the white sqaud gained a victory against the blue squad in the annual midnight madness game.
